The Broken Rock Skeet Club/Consolidated Sportsmans' annual Winter League Skeet Shoot will start at noon Jan. 13. A total of 300 birds will be shot.
Individuals and teams of five will compete for various prizes every other Sunday for six weeks.

Beginners Firearms Safety Course: Participants will learn how to safely load a firearm, safely unload a firearm, safe clearing procedures, basic pistol shooting skills, the differences between a revolver and semi-automatic pistol and how to shoot each one, and more.
One-day classes will be held 6-9 p.m. Jan. 21, Feb. 7 and 28; 1-4 p.m. Jan. 25 and Feb. 15; noon-3 p.m. Feb. 9.
Level 2 course: Moving to/from a threat, flashlight use; 1-3 p.m. Feb. 10.
Level 3 course: Tactical training on firing techniques using a barricade for cover and using Hogan's Alley, a decision-making course of fire used by the FBI; 6-8 p.m. Jan. 28, noon to 2 p.m. Feb. 23.
B27 Shootout: New event from 6 to 8 p.m. Jan. 29. Shots fired at 3, 7, 15, 25 yards with a combination of strong/weak hand positions. Speed loaders and extra magazines needed. Fee applies. Trophies awarded to top two finishers.
