Loyalsock Township supervisors will host a public meeting tonight on the topic of sewer regionalization.
Supervisors consider a proposal to combine the township's sewer system with the Williamsport Sanitary Authority.
The meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the Loyalsock Township Building, 2501 E. Third St.
"Township supervisors will be there as well as sanitary board members, and we've invited leaders from the other tributary communities who also have a vested interest in a potential for regionalization," said Loyalsock Township Manager Bill Burdett. "We wanted to have all the people who have been involved in these discussions over the last five years."
Burdett and Williamsport Sanitary Authority Executive Director Douglas Keith will present a draft agreement to have the WSA take over and own the Loyalsock Township sewer system.
There is no plan for the supervisors to vote on the proposal tonight, Burdett added.
"The supervisors wanted to open it up to anyone from the public, any resident that would be interested in this, against it or just wanted to figure out what's going on," Burdett said.
The regular supervisors meeting will be held after the informational meeting at 7:30 p.m.
