Friends of the Pipes concert

LOCK HAVEN - Michael and Denise Connor will open the Winter Fine Arts Series at Great Island Presbyterian Church, 12 W. Water St., at 1:30 p.m. with a vocal recital. Michael is a music teacher at Central Mountain Middle School and the choir director at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Montoursville. Together, he and his wife lead the music ministry program at Our Lady of Lourdes. Tickets for the concert, sponsored by the Friends of the Pipes, are $15 ($5 for students) and will be sold at the door. All proceeds benefit the historic pipe organ restoration project at Great Island Presbyterian Church.

Lasagna dinner

Trinity Lutheran Church, 844 W. Fourth St., will hold a lasagna dinner from 4-7 p.m. featuring meat or veggie lasagna. Cost is $8.50 for adults, $5 for children. For more information, call 322-0126.

Family Thrift Shop

Fairfield United Methodist Church, 833 Fairfield Church Road, will hold its family thrift shop from 8 a.m.=2 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m.-noon Saturday featuring spring and summer clothing. All fall and winter clothing is free.

FEB. 2

Free clothing exchange

A free clothing exchange will be held from 8-11 a.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church, 324 Howard St. in South Williamsport. Park in the lot across the street and use the alley entrance; an elevator is available. Clothes for all ages. If you have clean wearable clothes to donate, bring them. If not, come and take what you need.

Chicken and waffle dinner

RAUCHTOWN - St James Lutheran Church, 3242 Middle Road, will hold a chicken and waffle dinner from 4:40-6:30 p.m. Takeouts available from 4-5 p.m.

Family-style dinner

LOGANTON - Loganton Albright United Methodist Church, 47 E. Main St., will host a family-style dinner from 4-6:30 p.m. featuring meatloaf with scalloped potatoes. Takeouts available.

Jacobs Brothers concert

MIFFLINBURG - Mifflinburg Alliance Church, 1.2 miles north of Route 45 off Forest Hill Road, will host the Jacobs Brothers at 7 p.m. A love offering will be taken. Call 966-4899 for more information.

FEB. 5

Oyster supper

TURBOTVILLE - Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 39 Paradise St., will hold its annual oyster supper in the fellowship hall at 6:30 p.m. Leon Hagenbuch will give a presentation about the 79-year history of the supper. An approximate donation of $13 will be requested to pay for the oysters. Those planning to attend are asked to please call the church office at 649-5195 to aid in planning.
