The Canton boys basketball team is playoff-bound for the first time in 12 years. The Warriors defeated Wyalusing, 69-53 at home Friday and clinched their first playoff berth since 2001. Eddie Larcom (21) and Emmett Watson (20) combined for 41 points as Canton (11-6) won for the 11th time in 14 games.
Brandon Whitesell scored 12 points but Cowanesque Valley fell behind big early and never recovered in a 73-49 loss to Athens. Luke Wright scored 23 for the Wildcats.
North Penn fell to Mansfield 62-45 at home Friday night. The Tigers were led by Bo Burleigh, who had 12 rebounds and 14 points.
