A sex offender from Texas who skipped bail in 2010 and was arrested in Loyalsock Township last week will be heading back home after he waived extradition Monday morning.
Dan Burch, 36, was apprehended late on the morning of Jan. 22 by U.S. Marshals in the EconoLodge parking lot, 2019 E. Third St.
Burch was charged in 2007 with aggravated sexual assault of a 13-year-old. An arrest warrant was issued by Liberty County, Texas, in May 2010 when he violated the terms of his bail.
Burch was turned over to the Pennsylvania State Police, who charged him as a fugitive from justice and had him incarcerated.
The Liberty County sheriff's office has 10 days to retrieve Burch from Lycoming County Prison.
