Chicken and waffle supper

RAUCHTOWN - A chicken and waffle supper will be held at St. James Lutheran Church, 3242 Middle Road, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children under 12. Call 745-7369 for tickets or information.

Teen Challenge choir

Special service

WOOLRICH - Woolrich Community United Methodist Church, 1080 Park Ave., will celebrate baptisms and receive new members during the 10:30 a.m. worship service. There will be a fellowship time following the service to meet and greet new members.

First Sunday Program

NORTHUMBERLAND - Priestley Chapel Associates will present an informal program of words and music from 9:30-10:10 a.m. at Joseph Priestley Memorial Chapel, 380 Front St. The program recognizes poet William Carlos Williams who was appointed as Consultant in Poetry in 1952 (twice, having the first offer withdrawn and then later reoffered but for health reasons he did not serve). Guest poet David Bauman will read from his work and those of others. The music portion of the program will be provided by the Bloomsburg Early Music Consortium.

Fellowship dinner

Farragut Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, along Route 864 near the intersection with Route 87, will hold its monthly first Tuesday fellowship dinner from 5:30-7 p.m. Free-will donations are accepted.

FRIDAY

Concert scheduled

LAIRDSVILLE - Lynn Swizinsky will perform in concert at 7:30 p.m. at Lairdsville Faith Church, 6786 Route 118. Call Pastor Max L. Walters Jr. at 584-2765 for more information.

Community breakfast

RAUCHTOWN - St. James Lutheran Church, 3242 Middle Road, will hold a community breakfast from 8-10 a.m. A free-will offering will be collected to benefit the Sydney Knicely Kidney Donor Fund.

Soup and craft sale

A soup and craft sale will be held from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the West End Christian Community Center, 901 Diamond St. Use the rear handicap accessible entrance.

Roast turkey dinner

WATSONTOWN - Holy Spirit Evangelical Lutheran Church, 10275 Route 44, between McEwensville and Turbotville, will hold a roast turkey dinner from 4-6 p.m. Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children 4-8. Call 649-5822 for more information.

Feast Day scheduled

Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 100 Walnut St. in Montoursville, will celebrate the feast day of its parton beginning Saturday through Monday. A Youth Mass is set for 6 p.m. Saturday. The 1943 Academy Award movie, "The Song of Bernadette" will be shown at 6 p.m. Sunday. Events will conclude with vespers and a healing service at 7 p.m. Monday featuring the Rev. Pio Mandato, a priest of the Capuchin Order. Mandato is listed in the Catholic Herald as one of the world's 10 most interesting priests. The healing service will be preceded by an opportunity for the sacriment of reconsiliation. Call 368-8598 for more information.

New dinner time
