Beginners Firearms Safety Course: Participants will learn how to safely load a firearm, safely unload a firearm, safe clearing procedures, basic pistol shooting skills, the differences between a revolver and semi-automatic pistol and how to shoot each one, and more.
One-day classes will be held 6-9 p.m. Feb. 7 and Feb. 28; noon-3 p.m. Feb. 9; 1-4 p.m. Feb. 15.
Ladies 5-week program: Classroom training on firearms safety and handling as well as tactics in self-defense, in particular, dealing with home invasions. Participants must attend each date.
Upcoming programs will be held Monday evenings beginning Feb. 11; Saturday mornings beginning Feb. 16; Wednesday evenings beginning April 3.
Level 2 course: Tactical training on moving from and toward a threat, rapid fire, use of flashlights and firing when the threat is within arms reach; 1-3 p.m. Feb. 10.
Level 3 course: Tactical training on firing techniques using a barricade for cover and using Hogan's Alley, a decision-making course of fire used by the FBI; noon-2 p.m. Feb. 23.
