Joan M. Miller, 76, of Williamsport, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, at Williamsport Regional Medical Center.
Born July 15, 1936, in Williamsport, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Nellie Culp Hess.
She was a member of the Christian Church at Cogan Station. Joan was a Sunday school teacher for 30 years, the founder of the Tea Bag Ministry and a former Girl Scout Leader. She was an avid crafter.

Surviving are her three children, Christy L. (Dale) Westphal of Williamsport, Rusty A. (Kim) Miller of Williamsport and Stacy (Earl) St. James of South Williamsport; seven grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; three sisters, Noreen Rothermel of Loyalsock, Betty Whyne of Williamsport and Sandra Giacomi of Williamsport; and a brother, Jack Hess of Muncy.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, Clarence A. "Junny" Miller Jr. in 2004; three sisters, Virginia Foust, Claire O'Brien and Vivian Frantz; and three brothers, Charles, Frederick and Gordon Hess.
A Life Celebration will be held 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8, at the Christian Church at Cogan Station, 5904 Lycoming Creek Road, Cogan Station. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Joan's name may be made to the Children's Department of the Christian Church at Cogan Station, P.O. Box 230, Cogan Station, PA 17728.
