George K. Neyhart Jr., 91, of Ravine Road, Williamsport, passed away Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, at the Williamsport Home.
He was born Dec. 16, 1921, in Williamsport, the son of George K. Sr. and Bertha A. Neyhart.
George graduated from Williamsport High School, class of 1940.
He enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Force and graduated from several Air Force Technical Schools. He served from 1940 to 1945 as a Combat School Instructor in the Fourth Air Force.
George married the former Elizabeth A. Crandell on Dec. 12, 1942, in Sioux Falls, S.D.
Following World War II, he was involved in the Automobile Business in the Williamsport area for 15 years. In 1960, he joined J.P. Ward Foundries in Blossburg as a National Sales Manager. He retired in 1986 as Director of Sales and Marketing.
He was a member of the Faxon-Kenmar United Methodist Church and a life member of the Masonic Lodge No. 707 and the Williamsport Consistory.
Besides his wife of 70 years Elizabeth, he is survived by two daughters, Deborah (Fred) Kuster of Jackson, N.J., and Marilyn (Mike) Neyhart-Anderson of North Wales; two grandchildren, Lauren Kuster of Tampa, Fla., and David (Daniela) Kuster of Point Pleasant, N.J.; and two great-grandchildren, Jackson Kuster of Point Pleasant, N.J., and Leila Kuster of Tampa, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Carl; and two sisters, Laura Lawson and Jane Newlin.
In keeping with George's wishes his services and interment will be held privately. There will be no visitation.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Faxon-Kenmar United Methodist Church, 1301 Clayton Ave., Williamsport, PA 17701.
Arrangements are being handled by the James C. Maneval Funeral Home, Ltd., "A Life Celebration Home," 500 W. Fourth St., Williamsport.
