3rd man arrested

in botched robbery

A third man has been arrested in connection with a botched 2011 robbery in which the victim slammed his front door the minute a robber pointed a gun at him, state police said.

Ryan Joseph Hamilton, 23, whose only address was listed as being an inmate at the state Correctional Institution at Rockview, has been arraigned on robbery and related offenses for his alleged involvement in the holdup of Adolph Cillo at Cillo's home on Log Run Road in Loyalsock Township during the early morning hours of Dec. 28, 2011.

Hamilton;, Ryan W. Miller, 20, no address listed;, and Michael Patrick Smith, 31, an inmate at the Berks County Prison, conspired together to robbed Cillo of jewelry and other valuables, police allege.

Smith was "a friend" of Cillo's and apparently aware of valuables inside the home, police said.

Miller allegedly knocked on the door and asked to use a telephone, claiming his car broke down, police said. However, shortly after Cillo gave him a cellphone, Miller pulled out a gun and said, "This is robbery," police said. Cillo slammed the door, police added.

Following his arraignment before District Judge James H. Sortman, Hamilton was jailed in the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $75,000 bail.

Old Lycoming Township man facing charges

A 33-year-old city man faces charges for allegedly obtaining 13 prescriptions for the painkiller Tramadol through fraudulent means, according to Old Lycoming Township police.

Richard Anthony Blase, of 743 Park Ave., obtained the prescriptions illegally by calling in Rite Aid, 2023 Lycoming Creek Road, and claiming to be a doctor from Camp Hill, police said. He put the prescriptions in the name of his ex-girlfriend's husband, police said.

Blase obtained the prescription between Aug. 27 and Jan. 22, police said. Charged with forgery, theft, receiving stolen property and identity theft, he has been arraigned before District Judge James H. Sortman and committed to the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $10,000 bail and a parole violation.

2 charged with

simple assault

Roy Blaine Russitano, 35, and Faith Nicole Kolasa, 30, both of 330 Government Place, have been charged with simple assault, disorderly conduct and conspiracy for allegedly attacking and assaulting Brandon Aumick in the first block of East Fourth Street on Nov. 10, city police said.

Following their recent arraignment before District Judge Allen P. Page III, Russitano and Kolasa were released on $1,500 bail each.

punched father

MUNCY - Anthony Michael Snyder, 24, of 1637 Quaker Church Road, has been charged with simple assault for allegedly punching his father, Robert, three times in the head during a disturbance at the family's Muncy Creek Township home on Jan. 19, state police said.

Following his arraignment before District Judge James H. Sortman hours later, Snyder was committed to the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $8,000 bail.

Canton woman faces

felony shoplift charge

Jolene Luise Morgan, 51, of Canton, has been charged by state police with felony shoplifting after she was caught allegedly trying to steal merchandise at Kmart, 1915 E. Third St., about 4:40 p.m. on Jan. 19.

The value of the merchandise was not listed, but the charge is a felony because Morgan already has three shoplifting convictions. Following her arraignment later that night before District Judge Jon E. Kemp, she was committed to the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $15,000 bail.

Wolf Township woman

charged with stealing

PENNSDALE - When Brenda Lee Mosier was caught outside Sears allegedly with $624 worth of stolen merchandise on the afternoon of Nov. 23, it turned out that the 23-year-old Wolf Township woman also had stolen merchandise at two other Lycoming Mall stores, according to Muncy Township police.

Mosier, of 78 Reservoir Road, just outside Hughesville, also had on her $239 worth of merchandise from J.C. Penney and $118 worth of items from Burlington Coat Factory, police said.

Following her arraignment before District Judge Jon E. Kemp on misdemeanor charges of shoplifting, receiving stolen property and possession of an instrument of crime, Mosier was released on $5,000 bail. The last charge stems from her using a backpack to conceal the stolen items, police said.

2 charged with

stealing scrap

JERSEY SHORE - Two people have been charged with allegedly stealing scrap metal from Buttorff's Plumbing and Heating, 216 Bastress St., on Sept. 17, according to the Tiadaghton Valley Regional Police.

Devon Darby, 31, of 1131 Charles St., Williamsport, and Christine Ade Rutkowski conspired together in stealing the metal, police said.

While Darby faces charges of theft and receiving stolen property, Rutkowski has been charged with conspiracy to theft and receiving stolen property for allegedly driving Darby to the business to steal the scrap, police said. The two have been arraigned before District Judge Jerry C. Lepley and released on $5,000 bail each.

Assault charge filed

PICTURE ROCKS - Eugene Leroy Daye Jr., 62, of 53 Bartlow Road, has been charged by state police with simple assault and harassment for allegedly striking Joseph Charles Stover in the face in the 100 block of Boston Road on May 6. He is free on $5,000 bail.
