Despite leading by three points at halftime, Lycoming College couldn't hold off Lebanon Valley's second-half surge, falling 84-75. Anthony Martin led the Warriors with 21 points while Jerald Williams dished out 11 assists, breaking his Lycoming all-time single-season record.
With three games remaining, Lycoming and Arcadia are tied for third in the Commonwealth with Messiah. Stevenson and Hood, who the Warriors face in the season finale on Feb. 16, are tied for the fifth and last playoff spot in the league, one game behind the three-way tie at third.
Just an assist shy of a triple-double, Mercyhurst's Jonathan Ouegnin scored 11 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and dished out nine assists in Mercyhurst's 57-40 win over Lock Haven. The PSAC's leading scorer, Wali Hepburn, led all scorers with 18 points for Lock Haven.
In women's basketball, Despite double-digit scoring from three players, Lycoming fell to No. 19 Lebanon Valley, 62-55. Caitlin Bach scored 17 points, grabbed 14 rebounds and dished out three assists for Lebanon Valley while Julia Antonelli led the way for Lycoming with 13 points and nine rebounds.
Facing a 15-point halftime deficit, Mercyhurst rallied past Lock Haven, 70-67. Kaylee Foster led Mercyhurst in the win with 15 points while Kelsey Ryan had a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds for the Lady Eagles.
In wrestling, after Tyler Cunningham and Nikolas Christine scored back-to-back pins, Lycoming escaped an eight-point deficit and took down Stevens, 24-14. The Warriors make their way back to .500 with a 7-7 record in the comeback win.
In boys basketball, Nick Ring had a double-double with 15 points and 17 rebounds and Muncy won at Benton, 49-44. Dawson Fox added 16 points and was 10 of 13 from the foul line.
Kelby Mullen had 10 points, seven assists and five rebounds and Sullivan County defeated Montgomery, 64-37. Conner Wylie led the Griffins with 16 points.
Hughesville lost its third consecutive contest as Mt. Carmel picked up a key HAC II win, 53-40. Hughesville scored a combined 18 points in the first three quarters, but surged to scored 22 in the fourth.
Taylor Hillson scored 17 of his 21 points in the second half, including 12 in the fourth quarter as Mansfield came back for a 51-47 win over Sayre in boys basketball. Hilson added seven rebounds and three steals for the Tigers. Sam Rotella had 11 points for Mansfield.
Erich Kline scored 23 points and Travis Conrad added 12 as Lewisburg thumped Warrior Run, 65-37. Calen Foresman led the Defenders with 16 points in the loss.
Troy Adriance scored 21 points as Williamson dominated Liberty, 68-33. Cody Schmouder led Liberty with 10 points.
In girls basketball, Muncy remained in a first-place tie with Benton atop the HAC-III standings with a 57-39 victory over Sullivan County. Brianna McLaughlin finished with 19 points and was one of three Indians in double figures. Muncy is scheduled to play co-leader Benton at home on Friday night. The Indians defeated the Tigers this past Monday.
Justine Seeley scored 31 points to lead Benton to a 58-29 win over South Williamsport. Jennifer Jackson scored a team-high 12 points while Anna Steer added 10 in the loss for South Williamsport.
Behind 16 points from Maria Kelleher, Lewisburg downed Milton, 41-34. Emily Baker led all scorers with 17 points for Milton.
