Region dodges brunt of Northeast snow’s worst

While New England was pounded with a major blizzard, snowfall overnight Friday had very little impact in Williamsport, which received just over one inch of snow that was brought about by a weakening storm system that originated in the Great Lake region, according to Kevin Fitzgerald, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in State College.
