Barbara L. Kibler, 91, of Williamsport, died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013, at Gatehouse at Divine Providence Hospital.
Born Aug. 5, 1921, in Flemington, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Madolynn Price Hess.
At a very early age, Barbara lost her hearing due to an illness. She attended the Philadelphia School for the Deaf and taught her family and friends sign language. Barbara enjoyed playing cards and puzzles and had a large memorabilia collection of Marilyn Monroe.

Surviving is her son, Robert Kibler of Williamsport; a stepson, Kenneth (Pat) Kibler of New Stanton; a brother, Samuel Hess Jr. of Williamsport; a sister, Peg Dooris of Williamsport; five grandchildren; 14 stepgrandchildren; six great-grandchildren; 30 stepgreat-grandchildren; three great-great- grandchildren; and 23 stepgreat-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jordan E. Kibler; a stepdaughter, Florence Mackie; and a brother, Robert Hess.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Ann's Catholic Church, 1220 Northway Road, with Rev. Paul C. Fontanella officiating. A viewing will be held Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St., Williamsport.
Interment will be in Wildwood Cemetery.
