Assault alleged of homeless parolee

Assault charges have been filed against a homeless state parolee who fled briefly from parole officers in late November as they were trying to take him into custody at a job site in the city, according to city police.

Richard Bean, 42, has been charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, resisting arrest, terroristic threats and possession of an instrument of crime.

As he was fleeing three parole officers in the 300 block of Academy Street on the morning of Nov. 28, Bean allegedly picked up a large shard of broken glass and threatened to use it on the officers, police said.

To escape a house where he was working, Bean kicked out a window and dove through it, police said. One parole officer, Tracy Gross, grabbed ahold of Bean's leg, but suffered numerous cuts to his right arm, police said.

Although Bean managed to break free of the officer, he was nabbed within minutes, hiding under a parked car near East Fourth and Mulberry streets.

He automatically was incarcerated at the state Correctional Institution at Rockview on a parole violation until Tuesday morning, when he was arraigned before District Judge James H. Sortman and committed to the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $75,000 bail.

Parolee nabbed after fleeing probation worker, police say

A 20-year-old Loyalsock Township county parolee faces a charge of escape for allegedly bolting from a probation officer who was trying to take him into custody on Oct. 22, according to an affidavit filed by a detective at the county's district attorney's office.

Nicholas Levichance Aloisio, of 324 Chirlton Point, just off of Sand Hill Road, ran into the woods when a probation officer came to his home to take him into custody for a probation violation, officials said.

Aloisio eluded authorities until Nov. 14, when he was captured in Hughesville and automatically committed to the Lycoming County Prison.

He has since been arraigned before District Judge Gary A. Whiteman and was recommitted to the prison in lieu of $50,000 bail.

Man arrested for hitting another

Bagley suffered a concussion and fractured ribs and was treated at Williamsport Regional Medical Center, police said.

Following his recent arraignment before District Judge Allen P. Page III, Rall was released on $1,500 bail.
