Helen J. Tucker, 90, of Williamsport, went home to her Lord and Savior Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013. She was surrounded by the family that she so fiercely loved.
She was born Jan. 8, 1923, in Williamsport, the daughter of Howard D. and Edith (Frymire) Smith.
All who knew her will remember her as a devoted mother and (nanny dear) grandmother.

A woman of strong faith she was a life long member of the East End Baptist Church where she served for many years on the deaconate board.
She served in the Women's Army Corps during World War II. She worked for many years and retired from Syntex Fabrics in Williamsport
Helen enjoyed cooking and baking.
She is survived by three daughters who adore her, Peggy (Robert) Wurster of Orangeville, Shirley (John) Britt of South Williamsport and Joanne (Calvin) Barto of Bloomsburg; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Charles and Richard Smith, both of South Williamsport; two sisters, Shirley Hampton of Minnesota, Ruth Klatte of Randolph, N.J.
Helen was predeceased by a sister, Kathleen Haney and a brother, Edgar Smith.
She will be sadly missed, fondly remembered and forever loved. May God keep her gently in his arms where she will dwell with Him forever.
Relatives and friends are invited to Helen's Life Celebration Memorial Service at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, at the James C. Maneval Funeral Home, Ltd., "A Life Celebration Home," 500 W. Fourth St., Williamsport, with Rev. Donald Harbaugh, Rev. Calvin Phillips and Rev. David Fishel officiating. Family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2 p.m.
