Jean L. Mitman, a resident of Sycamore Manor, died Feb. 14, 2013. She was 98. She was born July 2, 1914, the daughter of Herbert and Mabel Mitman, in Williamsport, Pa.
She is survived by her cousins, Raymond Miller and his wife Foy of East Longmeadow, Mass., Ann Kuznicki of Doylestown Pa., Leslie Miller and her husband William of Trinity, N.C., and Edgar Mitman and his wife Tracy of Summerton, S.C.
Jean spent many years caring for children. She also worked with her parents for many years at their stand in the farmer's Grower's Market House. She spent many years at the Kelchner & Metzgar candy stores.
She was later employed at Sycamore Manor, retiring in 1983. After retiring, she continued as a volunteer at Sycamore and also helped with Meals on Wheels. She was a children's Sunday School teacher for many years. She was a member of New Life Orthodox Presbyterian Church.
She will be buried in the family plot at Wildwood Cemetery. There will be no viewing and burial will be private. A memorial service will be led by the Rev. Bill Johnson and the Rev. Paul Brown at a date to be announced.
