Dr. Robert Millard Raemore passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, in Pittsburgh. He was born in May 1941 to Robert E. and Marcella A. Raemore, in Philadelphia. He attended the Williamsport schools and graduated from the Williamsport High School in 1958. He played football and was a track and field standout. Bob was a five-time PIAA state champion in track and field winning the 100 yard dash, 220 yard dash and the 440 yard dash in his senior year. Two of those are still records at WHS today and in winning the 440 yard dash, set a new state record. He is one of only two athletes ever to have won these three sprints in the same PIAA state meet. Bob won nine state track medals, was a part of the PIAA record-setting mile relay team, and was a member of numerous Penn Relay Championship of America relay teams while in high school. Bob attended Villanova University on a track and field scholarship and ran the anchor leg of various collegiate Championship of America relay teams. He was an AAU champion, was a five-time IC4A champion and was an Olympic trials athlete.
