Library to hold classes
McEWENSVILLE - The Montgomery House Warrior Run Area Public Library, 20 Church St., will hold the following events:
6:30 p.m. Feb. 28, Crafter's Corner. This is the last week for the felting classes. Attendees will turn a sweater into a basket. Registration is required.
11 a.m. March 1, Preschool Story Time. For children ages 3 to 5 and teaches early childhood literacy. The activities include stories, songs and crafts to help prepare for kindergarten.
March 1 through 7, mid-winter yard sale. Items from multiple families will be on display inside the library during normal operating hours. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Montgomery House Library.
6:30 p.m. March 4, computer workshop. This is the first in a series of four classes beginning with computer basics including how to turn a computer on, using a mouse and finding and creating files. The following three weeks will be internet basics, introduction to ebranch and free ebooks. Registration is required for each workshop.
11 a.m. March 5, LapSit for infants. LapSit program is for children newborn to 3 years. Parents can bond with their child and learn about their bodies, stretch muscles and play with puppets. The program introduces children to early literacy skills.
6:30 p.m. March 7, board meeting. Monthly board meeting of the Montgomery House Warrior Run Area Public Library's board of directors. The meeting is held in the East Room at The Watson Inn, Watsontown. All meetings are open to the public unless otherwise stated.
6 to 7 p.m. March 7, Clifford celebration. Attendees will celebrate the Norman Bridwell series of Clifford the Big Red Dog books. The event will have activity stations and refreshments provided by the Warrior Run Women's Club.

Strobels to hold quilting class
Irish Chain Quilt Class with instructor Ann Weaver will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 5 and from 6 to 8:30 p.m. March 6 at Strobels Sewing Center, 201 Basin St. Attendees will learn to strip piece the Irish Chain Quilt. For more information, call 322-7774.
Spring craft show to be held
A spring craft show will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 9 at the Fleming Center, 720 W. Fourth St. The show will benefit the CCD program at St. Joseph the Worker Parish.
Strobels to hold Block of the Month
Mill Girls Block of the Month with Ann Weaver will be held from 1 to 3:30 p.m. March 11 at Strobels Sewing Center, 201 Basin St. Attendees will work on quilts inspired by the Lowell Factory Girls and will use "Away From Home" by Nancy and Oliver Rink for the class.
