Man goes to jail for prank gone wrong

March 1, 2013
Williamsport Sun-Gazette

A city man will spend up to nine months in Lycoming County Prison for a drunken prank gone wrong.

Edward T. Johnson, 45, of 525 Fifth Ave., was sentenced to 4 1/2 to nine months in jail for a criminal trespass charge after he broke into a home on Lycoming Creek Road on Sept. 1 and took a 10-pound dumbbell.

"He was drunk and went into the wrong house," Judge Marc Lovecchio said. "The people believed him. They thought it was funny. But when you break into someone's house, you have to do the jail time."
