PENNSDALE - The Lycoming Animal Protection Society is holding their annual spay and neuter clinic on April 7 at the Pennsdale Fire Co. This is the fifth clinic offered to the public since its launch in 2010.
During that time more than 600 cats have been spayed and neutered in an effort to reduce the population of free roaming cats in the Central Susquehanna Valley area.
Female cats have their litter by the age of five months, with this one litter she can produce five or more cats, according to LAPS. Rates are $60 for females and $40 for males. Dr. Mathew J. Murphy of Keystone Veterinary Services of Chambersburg will be performing the services at the clinic.
Those who are interested in the clinic's service can call to schedule an appointment at at 327-8707 or email info@LapsShelter.org. This is a first-come, first-serve basis.
Appointments are required and the service is only offered to cats.
Any business or persons willing to offer a donation for low-income families in this clinic can send a check of any size to LAPS, 195 Phillips Park Dr., South Williamsport, PA 17702. Be sure to mark it "Spay a Stray".
