Donald Raphael "Skeeter" English, 70, passed away Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, in Monroe, N.C. Born March 21, 1942, in Williamsport, he was the son of the late W. Woodrow and Virginia (King) English.
He graduated from South Williamsport Area High School in 1960 where he was the class president and starred in football and track. He also played semi-pro baseball in the Lower West Branch League at the age of 16.
English also attended Bloomsburg State College where he also played football. Skeet was a friend of Bill Wilson and Dr. Bob for 29 years.
English was a member of Saint Lawrence Church until he relocated to North Carolina in 1986.
He is survived by his wife, Heather Tabor English and stepson, Chris Tabor of Monroe N.C.; a daughter, Lisa A. Butler, Hickory, N.C.; a son, D. Joseph English (Ainsley), Alexandria, Va.; four grandsons, Matthew Butler, Aaron Butler, Nick English and Joey English; and two brothers, Blair, South Williamsport and David, Stroudsburg.
