Police: Woman tried to stab man to death

TOWANDA - Denise Lynn Strach, 51, of 101 Marsh St., Wyalusing, was charged with criminal attempt to commit homicide after state police here said she stabbed a 48-year-old male from Wyalusing late Friday night.

Police said the stabbing occurred after the two argued at her residence and the argument escalated into a physical altercation.

During the fight, police said, Strach stabbed the victim three times in the back and once in the right arm with a knife.

The victim, who was not identified by police, was transported to Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, for treatment of injuries.

Strach also was charged with two counts of aggravated assault, simple assault, reckless endangerment and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence.

She was arraigned before District Judge Michael Shaw, and remanded to the Bradford County Jail in lieu of $500,000 bail.
