TROUT RUN - Planning to perform two bridge replacements in 2014, the state Department of Transportation is asking for the public's input on a possible detour during construction.
Construction, set to begin in 2014 or 2015 on Route 287 in Cummings and Cogan House townships, will replace bridges over Funston Run and Lawshe Run. The detour would be in place during two separate one-week periods.
Heading north, the detour will use Route 973, Lycoming Creek Road, Route 15 and Route 184. Heading south, the detour will use Route 184, Route 15 and Route 973. For through traffic, the detour would add about 22 miles.
Construction would begin with improvements to the intersection of Route 287 and Route 184 to facilitate the detour.
PennDOT is seeking public concerns about the detour to Design Project Manager Noah Bauer, P.O. Box 218, 715 Jordan Ave., Montoursville, PA, 17754 or via email at email@example.com by April 5.
