Richard C. Donovan, 92, formerly of Jersey Shore, died at Rose View Center on March 4, 2013.
He was the son of Edward and Cora (Hoover) Donovan, and born April 21, 1920, in Jersey Shore.
He married "Pat" (Jean Patterson) on Jan. 17, 1943, and recently celebrated their 70th anniversary.

VETERAN
He was a member of the Fairplay Gospel Church in Jersey Shore.
Dick graduated high school in Jersey Shore, Dickinson Junior College and attended Drexel Institute of Technology.
He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II as a Second Lt. Then he came home to "Pat" and had various jobs, working for the railroad, YMCA and sold insurance just to name a few.
He graduated from what is now Lock Haven University and taught in the Jersey Shore School District until retirement in 1985.
Always active, he was a self taught artist, had a green thumb in his love of flower gardening. He enjoyed square dancing, camping, traveling and fishing. He and Pat spent many winters in Florida.
Dick was a member of the American Legion.
He was predeceased by brothers, Ed and Bob and sisters, Alice, Peg and Dorothy.
Surviving are his wife, "Pat"; son, Larry (Jan) Donovan; and daughter, Pat (Hayes) Lose; grandchildren, Kelly (Henry) Cummings, Keith (Kim) Lose, Mike Lose, Erin Donovan and Eric Donovan; also great-grandchildren, Andrew, Katelin, Ben, Austin, Logan, Sabria and Cassie.
Family will provide the flowers and suggest contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 1948 E. Third St., Williamsport, PA 17701.
Richard's Life Celebration Memorial Service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, March 9, 2013, at the Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, Ltd., "A Life Celebration Home," 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore. A visitation will be from 12:30 until 1 p.m. Burial will be in Jersey Shore Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
