Perhaps nothing can break hearts like the month of March - spring-like conditions one day, the frigid chill of winter the very next.
Not surprisingly, the somewhat warm, sunny weather that's cast a dreamlike spell over central Pennsylvania of late soon will be but a memory.
Moderate temperatures will rule today, before succumbing to gradually cooler weather the rest of the week.

The National Weather Service is forecasting mostly cloudy skies with a high of 56 degrees.
Rain is expected to arrive overnight, with up to a 1/2-inch of precipitation possible. It also will be a bit breezy tonight into Tuesday.
"The cooldown does come in Tuesday," National Weather Service forecaster Aaron Tyburski said. "The front comes through Monday night into Tuesday morning. Then behind the front, as it moves east, temperatures will start to fall."
There's an 80 percent chance of showers Tuesday and a high of 48.
For the rest of the week through Friday, daytime temperatures will not get out of the low 40s.
"A secondary front will come through during the day on Wednesday," Tyburski said. "Thursday actually looks like the coolest day. Once we get into the weekend we should see temperatures warm up into the mid 40s."
Wednesday will be partly cloudy with a 30 percent chance of rain.
Thursday will be mostly sunny and breezy, and Friday will be partly sunny with a 30 percent chance of showers.
Overnight lows through the period will range from the mid 20s to the low 30s.
Tyburski said the changes in temperatures are nothing out of the ordinary for this time of year.
"This is very typical for March to see the big swings," he said. "The atmosphere is kind of making its transition into springtime."
And the days are growing longer.
Tyburski said the each day is adding about a minute of daylight.
Spring officially arrives at 7:02 a.m. March 20.
