Lawrence R. Weaver Jr., 80, of 93 Rock Run Road, Cogan Station, died Sunday, March 10, 2013, at his home following a brief illness with his family at his bedside.
Larry's wife of 60 years, the former Jean O. Cochran, died July 22, 2012.
Larry was an Army veteran and a member of Memorial Baptist Church. He was also a member of International Local Teamsters Union 764, enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, riding 4-wheelers and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Larry retired from UPS after 35 years of service. He was also a constable for 11 years, serving the 6th ward.
Born Jan. 25, 1933, in Williamsport, he was the son of Lawrence R. and Mary J. (Bower) Weaver Sr.
Surviving are sons, Allan "Butch" R. (Deb) and David L. (Christine), both of Williamsport, Jesse L. (Susan) of Levittown and Lawrence R. (Becky) III of Cogan Station; daughters, Patricia J. (Edward) Gee and Barbara E. Weaver, both of Williamsport, and Margaret L. Buck of Roaring Branch; sister, Josephine Cochran of Williamsport; 19 grandchildren; nine stepgrandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 19 stepgreat-grandchildren.
Larry was predeceased by sisters, Laura Shaffer and Helen Mae Shaffer; son-in-law, Donald Buck; granddaughter, Jennifer L. Powell; and a stepgrandson, Steven M. Buck.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Knight-Confer's, 1914 Memorial Ave., with the Rev. Joel Henderson officiating. There will be a visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Twin Hills Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Larry's name may be made to the Susquehanna Hospice, 1100 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport, PA 17701.
