Florence G. Painter, 81, of 1804 Loyalsock Drive, Williamsport, died Sunday, March 10, 2013, at the Gatehouse Hospice Center in Williamsport.
Born June 22, 1931, in Pennsdale, she was a daughter of the late Roy and Phoebe (Miller) Sechler. On May 30, 1953, she married Harry G. Painter, who preceded her in death Feb. 6, 1994. Together they celebrated 40 years of marriage.
Florence was employed as an assembler at Sylvania in Montoursville for 24 years. She and her husband enjoyed the outdoors and earlier in life they spent lots of time riding motorcycles. She also liked playing cards with her friends.
Surviving are two grandchildren, Jackie Sharr and Curtis Painter.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by two sons, Robert and Douglas Painter.
The family is planning a memorial service to be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 16, 2013, at Fairfield United Methodist Church, 833 Fairfield Church Road, Montoursville. Officiating will be Pastor David W. Trostle, minister at Fairfield United Methodist Church, and Florence's great nephew, Mark Boyer.
