William J. "Jim" Chubb, 83, of Williamsport, died Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at Rose View Center.
He was born Aug. 15, 1929, in Trout Run. Jim was preceded in death by his stepson, William Yonkin and his brother, Fred Chubb.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II where he was a cook. Jim enjoyed bowling, playing cards and watching John Wayne movies. He loved listening to Freddy Fender and Johnny Cash and loved his dogs, Bippy and Foxy, and his cat, Toby.
Surviving are his stepdaughter-in-law, Rose Yonkin of Cogan Station; stepson, Eugene (Audrey) Yonkin of Alaska; three grandchildren, Shary (Michael) Shipman of Cogan Station, Terri (Patrick) McNutt of Loyalsock and William (Kim) Yonkin of Montana; and three great-grandchildren, Philip Yonkin, Matthew Shipman and Melinda Shipman.
In keeping with his wishes, services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jim's name may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256 or the Lycoming County SPCA, 2805 Reach Road, Williamsport, PA 17701.
