Richard Allen ‘Dick’ Baney

Richard Allen "Dick" Baney, 74, Trout Run, died on Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at his residence.

Dick was married on Feb. 22, 1964, to the former Helen M. (Case) who survives and have celebrated 49 years as husband and wife.

Dick was born on April 12, 1938, in Williamsport and was the son of the late Chester Lee and Jennie A. (Wagner) Baney. He had graduated from Williamsport High School. He served in the US Navy from 1957 to 1961.

Dick had worked as a mason for the Brick Layers Union and retired in 2001. He then worked part time with Cogan House Township. He was a member of the Tractor Pulling Association of Trout Run, National Association of Watch & Clock Collectors, Northern Masonic Jurisdiction, USA Williamsport No. 197, John F. Laedlein Lodge No. 707 F & AM, Williamsport, Bricklayers Allied Craftworkers Local Union No. 5 and No. 47, Disabled American Veterans Commanders Club and Antes Fort Tractor Pulling Association. He enjoyed Antique Pocket watch restoring and collecting Oliver 70 Tractors, wood planes and watch fobs.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Richard Allen Baney, II of Okla.; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Joyce Litzelman of McSherrystown, Judy and Charles Fulkrod of Penn Yan, N.Y. and Jennie and Timothy "Gus" Moore of Lucinda; five grandchildren, Stephanie and Danielle Fulkrod, Jaide Litzelman and Madison and Jackson Moore; one brother and sister-in-law, Russell Lee and Jennie Baney of Liberty; one sister, Linda Hunsinger of Montoursville; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Elsie Knarr.

There will be a public viewing from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday at the Allen and Redmond Funeral Home, 331 Elmira St., with the funeral service to begin at 6 p.m. The Reverend Harry Russell Blanchard Jr. will officiate the service. Burial will be held at a later date. There will be a Masonic service at the funeral home at 5:45 Monday.
