The Alpine Club of Williamsport is organizing work hikes on the Loyalsock Trail. Crews will set out on April 7 and 21 and May 5.
Participants will concentrate on clearing the trail of debris, cutting overhanging branches, cutting back brush, clipping plants that may interfere with hikers' view of blazes and working on areas that still need help following damage from flooding in 2011.
The club can provide some loppers and clippers, but hikers are encouraged to bring their own tools if they can.
Hikers will meet at 8 a.m. at the parking lot of the Sovereign Bank (the stone bank) on Southern Avenue in South Williamsport.
