Marvin E. Betz, 80, of Warrior Run Manor, Watsontown, passed away Sunday, March 17, 2013, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born in Turbotville on Aug. 7, 1932, he was the son of the late G. Warren and Alberta (Snyder) Betz.
Marvin was a self-employed contractor working throughout Lycoming County and surrounding areas until his retirement in late 1998. He was a lifelong woodworker and enjoyed hunting, traveling and playing cards. He loved winter snow tubing, summer boating on the river and picnics with his family and friends.
Surviving are daughters, LaCinda (Jeffrey) Coup of Milton and Suzanne (Gary) Mutschler of Newnan, Ga.; sons, David (Jolene) Betz of Watsontown and Douglas (Robin) Betz of Nisbet; sisters, Marie Welliver of Turbotville and Irene (Richard) Hagerman of Fort Worth, Texas; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and beloved friend, Gail Felix of Watsontown.
Marvin was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Donald Betz.
In keeping with Marvin's wishes, there will be no visitation. A private graveside service will be held at the Turbotville Cemetery at the convenience of the family. The family suggests contributions in Marvin's memory be made to the American Cancer Society, Central Susquehanna Unit, 1948 E. Third St., Williamsport, PA 17701.
