Virginia B. May, 86, of Williamsport, died on Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at the Gatehouse.
Her husband, William A. May, died on July 24, 1999.
Born Oct. 31, 1926, in South Williamsport, she was the daughter of Secondo (Sam) and Francis Mazero Bruno.
A 1944 graduate of Williamsport High School, she worked as the receptionist for the Speech and Hearing Department of the Williamsport Hospital. Virginia was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, America Business Women Association, Eastern Star and Beta Sigma Phi. She kept very busy in retirement as a volunteer at the Divine Providence Hospital Rehabilitation Center, American Red Cross Bloodmobiles and at St. Anthony's Center.
Surviving are three sons, Rod I. (Zora) May, East Aurora, N.Y., Kurt A. (Robin) San Diego, Calif., Mark W. (Lori) May, Portland, Ore.; a daughter, Kristin M. (Greg) Keefer, Montoursville; a sister, Barbara Whitnack, Charleston, S.C.; and 12 grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2013, in the chapel at Trinity Episcopal Church, 844 W. Fourth St., with Reverend Canon Kenneth E. Wagner-Pizza officiating. Flowers will be provided by the family. Burial will be private. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 5:30 p.m. until the time of the service.
The family suggests that memorial contributions in Virginia's name be made to St. Anthony's Center, 125 E. Willow St., Williamsport, PA 17701.
