A 23-year-old man arrested in November for allegedly throwing hot cooking oil on another man has new charges for allegedly having controlled substances in his possession on the night he was taken into custody.
Tyrell Williams, of Philadelphia, was taken from the Lycoming County Prison last week and arraigned before District Judge Allen P. Page III on charges of possession with intent to deliver 21 bags of heroin and 20 bags of crack cocaine. He was recommitted in lieu of an additional $75,000 bail.
Williams was arrested on Nov. 3 in the area of Via Bella and Basin Street on a city police warrant accusing him of taking part in a robbery and assault during the early morning hours of Jan. 6, 2012.
Police allege Williams and three other men who remain at large attacked a man, smashing a glass beer bottle over his head, rummaging through his pants pockets and pouring a pot of cooking oil over him during a drug deal in the 800 block of Memorial Avenue.
