Eugene R. Jacobs, 95, of Loyalsock Township, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at the Williamsport Home.
He was born July 17, 1917, in Williamsport, the son of Ira S. and Mabel A. Confer Jacobs.
Eugene graduated from Williamsport High School in 1935 and then went on to graduate from the former Williamsport Commercial College. He retired after 48 years from the Williamsport Paper Co., where he was vice president and general manager. Eugene was a charter member of the Loyalsock Township Lions, where he served as president and secretary and was awarded the Melvin Jones award and the Lion of Pennsylvania award. He was a 70-year member of Masonic Lodge No. 106 and member of the Williamsport Consistory. Eugene had been a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church since 1939, where he held many positions including: church council, president for three terms, Scout Master Boy Scouts Troop 10, Sunday school teacher, superintendent of intermediate department, choir since 1939, Stephen minister and food pantry volunteer. He enjoyed photography, music and playing cards.

He is survived by his wife, the former Reba B. Becher, whom he married Nov. 12, 1944, in Bethany Lutheran Church; two daughters, Linda J. Rosini of Montoursville and Holly J. (Dr. John) Carlson of Danville; four grandchildren, Kevin, Shannon, Hope and Christopher; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
The funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, April 1, 2013, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 142 N. Market St., Williamsport, with Rev. Kenneth R. Elkin officiating. Interment will follow in Twin Hills Memorial Park at 2 p.m. Friends may call at the church Monday morning from 10 to 11 a.m.
