To Rep. Rick Mirabito, D-Williamsport, and Mike Hanna, D-Lock Haven, on the state sale of alcoholic beverages:
Just got back from Massachusetts on a family visit. As you may well know massachusetts is one of the most social states in the union.
The wine my wife and I like is $3 to $4 a bottle cheaper than at our local state store. This is not a sale price. Also, there is no state tax in Massachusetts on these sales. (Remember when Pennsylvania added sales tax to our alcohol sales. Pennsylvania needed the money...where did the money go?)
Please let us know why we in Pennsylvania should not be saving $3 to $4 a bottle on wine and other spirits.
