Lucille M. Engel, 83, of Bastress Township, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 28, 2013, in her beloved home of 52 years with her cat on her lap.
Lucille was born in Williamsport on Feb. 6, 1930, the daughter of John and Margaret (Dymeck) Wrench.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, was the school librarian and taught CCD. She also was church organist, choir director and founded and led the church's folk group "Inspiration" for many years.
Lucille was receptionist at R. M. Sides for 25 years and was a U.S. Air Force veteran during the Korean War.
Lucille was a devoted wife and a wonderful mother who filled the home with love and music.
She and her husband, William C. Engel, were married June 27, 1959; he died March 26, 2006.
Surviving are a daughter, Suzie M. (Don) Saar of Woolrich; two sons, Jeffrey S. (Gretchen) Engel of Jersey Shore, Bill J. (Inger) Engel of Bastress Township; grandchildren, Julie Merryman, Katie Engel, Kyle Engel and Donny Saar.
Three brothers, Robert, John and William T. Wrench and a sister, Valerie Agalias preceded him in death.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 5973 Jacks Hollow Road, Williamsport, with her pastor, Rev. Bert Kozen officiating followed by burial in the church cemetery.
