I just got back from Charleston and Myrtle Beach when I saw headlines in the newspaper: 5 free things to do in Charleston, S.C.
Yes, I had a wonderful trip, however, my wife and I took friends of ours (a young couple) out to dinner.
I paid the tab and when I looked at it, I about flipped! It was just shy of $400. Our suite in the hotel cost around $600 per night. That was my introduction to Charleston.
The newspaper article was quite true though. I breathed the air for free, we walked the streets for free, we saw some sights and talked to people for free, and we drove in and out of the city for free. Not a bad deal!
