Charles J. Kitzmiller, 82, of Unityville, Pa., went to be with the Lord Friday, April 12, 2013, at his residence surrounded by his family and friends.
He was born March 31, 1931, in Unityville, Pa., a son of the late Edwin E. and Cecil Sherwood Kitzmiller. In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his wife, the former Alice Earnest, on Oct. 28, 2010, and two sisters, Margaret Houskneckt and Florence Zeisloft.
He is survived by three sons, Edwin E. Kitzmiller and his wife Christine, Charlie E. Kitzmiller and his wife Sandy and Travis Kitzmiller and his wife Alissa, all of Unityville; and two daughters, Virginia Long and her husband Edward of Millville and Cathy Kitzmiller of Unityville.
Charles attended Salem schools and enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, country music, restoring farm equipment and loved to talk. He was member of the Unityville Fire Co. and past president. His life consisted of assisting his father at the Kitzmiller's store, also worked for Ech's Crane and Rigging and then became a dairy farmer. After that time he bought, sold and trucked grain. His greatest joy was his children and grandchildren helping any way he could.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at Bunnell Funeral Home Inc. 179 E. Main St., Millville, PA 17846. Rev. Chris Dunlap Hospice Chaplin will officiate. Burial at Salem Cemetery Unityville, Pa. Friends may call Tuesday from 6 till 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Friends unable to attend may send condolences at bunnellfuneralhome.com.
