Harry S. D'Addio, 88, of Lemoyne and formerly of Williamsport, passed away Sunday, April 14, 2013, at Manor Care of Camp Hill. Born July 2, 1924, in Williamsport, he was the son of the late Gisuppe and Blandina D'Addio.
Harry was a graduate of Williamsport High School, class of 1942, and received his bachelor's degree in business administration from Lycoming College. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving in the Philippines and the Asiatic-Pacific Theater where he was the recipient of many medals and decorations. Harry retired from AVCO Lycoming, Williamsport Division and was a former employee of Prior & Sallada in Williamsport. He was a former member of Ascension-Holy Rosary Catholic Church and the Williamsport VFW.
Harry enjoyed reading, listening to Big Band music, watching classic movies and the New Orleans Saints Football team.
Harry is survived by his loving wife, Helen (Portanova) D'Addio, and by his daughter, Elaine D. Sponenberg and her husband Norm of Mechanicsburg. Harry was preceded in death by his two brothers, Michael and Alfonso D'Addio and by his sister, Madeline Kulik.
Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday, April 18, 2013, at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Viewing will be held from 11 a.m. to noon Thursday at Malpezzi Funeral Home, Mechanicsburg.
