MANSFIELD - Samie Hamedi, 21, of Rochester, N.Y., was charged with possession of a controlled substance after he was stopped for allegedly speeding on Route 15 near the Sebring exit.
According to documents filed at District Judge James Carlson's office, police noticed a "faint odor of burnt marijuana emitting from the vehicle." Hamedie allegedly admitted to having marijuana in the vehicle and consented to a search.
Police found "a plastic sandwich-type bag in the center console containing a green vegetable matter." Rolling papers and a hand-rolled cigarette also were found. A field test confirmed the presence of marijuana.
Hamedi received a summons to appear at a May 15 preliminary hearing.
