Larry E. Beaver, 62, of Quarry Drive, Watsontown, passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at his home following a three-year battle with ALS.
Born April 17, 1951, in Williamsport, he was the son of Ralph Beaver of Watsontown and Dorothy (Lilley) Beaver of Williamsport.
On Aug. 4, 1973, he married the former Joyce R. Reynolds and they have celebrated 39 years of marriage.
He was a 1969 graduate of Warrior Run High School and a 1973 graduate of Bloomsburg University.
Larry taught math in the Bloomsburg Middle School for seven years and then at Warrior Run High School for 31 years, retiring due to ill health in 2011.
He attended First Baptist Church of Milton.
Larry enjoyed woodworking and landscaping, especially around his home in rural Watsontown.
Surviving, besides his wife and parents, are a son and daughter-in-law, Timothy E. and Kelly Beaver of Pottstown; a daughter and son-in-law, Jodie B. and Michael Lefebvre of West Chester; five grandchildren, Aidan, Jacob and Hannah Lefebvre, and Taylor and Kylie Beaver; a brother, Randy (Jody) Beaver of Elk Ridge, Md.; and two sisters: Nina (Rick) Murray of Hagerstown, Md., and Paulette Beaver, Williamsport.
Friends are invited to call from 3 to 4 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church of Milton, 316 Golf Course Road, Milton, where a memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. with the Rev. James R. Dries, his pastor, and the Rev. A. Bruce Amme, Turbotville, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in his memory be made to either Evangelical Home Hospice, One Hospital Drive, Lewisburg, PA 17837 or the ALS Association of Greater Philadelphia, 321 Norristown Road, Ambler, PA 19002.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Brooks Funeral Home, 124 Main St., Watsontown.
