Frederick A. Messner, 91, of 1520 E. Third St., died on Saturday, April 20, 2013, at home. His wife the former M. Louise Stabler Messner passed away on April 5, 2003.
He was born on April 9, 1922, in Liberty and was the son of Arthur Messner and Florence Heyler Messner.
Fred was a graduate of Liberty High School. He was a former owner of M&M Sheet Metal Company. Fred was a member of Faxon-Kenmar United Methodist Church, Susquehanna Region of the Antique Car Club, Poor Shot Hunting Club, Studebaker Club of America, the Consistory and Masonic Lodge 755. Fred loved being with his family and friends along with being outdoors and around old cars.
He is survived by four sons, Richard (Marcia) Messner, Duncannon; James (Patricia) Messner, Cogan Station; Robert (Betsy) Messner, Mohnton; Donald (Marlene) Messner, Montoursville; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Janetta Hill.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 24, 2013, in Kaufman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 2102 Northway Road, with Pastor Michael Swimley officiating. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Tuesday at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday from noon until the time of the service.
Family will provide the flowers and suggests that memorial contributions in Fred's name be made to Faxon-Kenmar United Methodist Church, Organ Fund, 1301 Clayton Ave., Williamsport, PA 17701.
