Fire damages business in Jersey Shore

April 22, 2013
Williamsport Sun-Gazette
PHILIP A. HOLMES/Sun-Gazette
An accidental fire at this business, Guerra Goldsmith, 1102 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore, tripped a fire alarm just before noon Sunday, alerting firefighters in time so that they could douse the flames quickly, averting what could have been a disaster. Independent Hose Fire Capt. Jeremy Frantz said the fire broke out in a work room where either a hot plate or a light on a bench overheated and caught fire. A second alarm was struck, but firefighters had the fire extinguished within 15 minutes. Damage was estimated at under $5,000.
