Martha H. (nee Brown) Davies, 81, of Montoursville, Pa., and formerly of Ambler, died Sunday, April 21, 2013, at Williamsport Home in Williamsport, Pa.
Mrs. Davies was born in Abington, Pa. She is the daughter of the late Archie M. and Martha H. (nee Welsh) Brown. Martha was preceded in death by her husband Robert H. Davies in 1960. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, George R. Brown and Archie M. Brown Jr. and her sisters, Edna M. Turner, Mildred Refsnider and Anna Mae (Nancy) Blosser.
She was employed as a canner for Amchem Products in Ambler until her retirement. Martha then worked for Gwynedd Mercy in their cafeteria until 1995.
Martha loved playing Bingo. She played in a bowling league for many years while working at Amchem. She was an avid Phillies and Eagles fan and enjoyed both going to games and watching them on TV in later years. Some of her favorite stories were about her son Bob who was her regular chauffeur. She also enjoyed going to Atlantic City to gamble with her siblings.
Mrs. Davies is the devoted mother of Bob Davies, cherished grandmother of Kimberly Rehn and her husband Brian of Montoursville, Pa., and loving great-grandmother of three. She is also survived by her brother, Linford S. Brown, of Lansdale, Pa.
Relatives and friends are invited to call from 9 to 10 a.m. on Friday, April 26, 2013, at the Anton B. Urban Funeral Home, 1111 S. Bethlehem Pike, Ambler, Pa. A 10:30 a.m. Funeral Service will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church, 708 S. Bethlehem Pike, Ambler, Pa., with Rev. David A. Canan officiating. Interment will be in St. Thomas Church Whitemarsh Cemetery, Fort Washington, Pa.
