In regarding Mr. Nash's letter in the Sun Gazette Sunday, he says the Sun-Gazette's long term, consistent, and perversely blind support of the NRA and its extreme positions makes this paper an accessory before and after the shootings in the country.
Mr. Nash, are you kidding me?
When President Bush was in office and all the vial things were being said in the liberal newspapers and on MSNBC and others with vicious attacks, were you writing them also complaining or does your libral background in journalism say its OK to bash and say vicious things only about conservatives.
I have been a reader of this paper for over 30 years and I don't think I ever saw the Sun Gazette say they endorse or support the NRA.
Lots of Law Enforcement take NRA training and lots of them belong to the NRA so are you saying that they to are part of the problem?
Mr Nash, this is a conservative, rural county. Most people own firearms and hunt and fish and lots belong to the NRA. Are all of them part responsible for the violence in the country to?
I am a grandfather and father and husband. I belong to the NRA. I have coached and umpired baseball. I have coached and refereed youth soccer. Am I an accessory to the violence? I don't think so and neither is this news paper or law enforcement or others that own firearms or belong to the NRA .
To the Sun-Gazette, I say thanks and keep doing what your doing. Thanks for writing about hunting and fishing. Most of the people in this county do hunt and fish and own firearms.
To Mr. Nash, I'm sorry you feel the way you do about this newspaper and the rest of us that own firearms or belong to the NRA. We are not the problem, but there's not enough room here for me to explain it to you.
