United Churches Wednesday noon ecumenical lunches are held each week of the school year at Pine Street United Methodist Church, 441 Pine St. This Wednesday Rhonda McDonald and Karen Wingate will speak about how the Journey House ministry of New Covenant United Church of Christ helps four families at a time to move from homelessness to self-sufficiency. A serving of a catered $6 lunch begins at 11:45 a.m. in the church fellowship hall. Free parking is available in the lot north of the church. Although reservations are not needed, those not regular attendees should call United Churches at 322-1110 to help the caterer know how many to prepare for.
The United Churches telephone devotion line is available 24 hours a day by calling 322-5762. The devotionalist next week will be Pastors Jim and Kathy Behrens. Kathy is part of the Pastoral Team at the Loyalsock-Wallis Run United Methodist Charge. Jim is the protestant chaplain at Muncy State Correction Institute and administrative pastor of the Picture Rocks United Methodist Charge.
