Weather forecasters indicate the city and region are going to see two days of rain and drizzle followed by the month of May starting off with near-perfect weather conditions.
On Sunday, the National Weather Service in State College forecast rain for today and Tuesday, but the remainder of the week should be sunny, with daytime high temperatures in the mid-60s to low-70s.
The area has received slightly less precipitation than normal for this time of the year, but that may change after today and Tuesday.

Before the rainfall, precipitation at the Williamsport Regional Airport for the year was 9.10 inches, which is 1.93 below the average. Snowfall for the season measured 32.7 inches.
Even though it's getting closer to summer, temperatures will be chillier today and tomorrow than they were over the weekend. The high temperature reaches about 59 degrees today and there may be a slight breeze or a wind of about 10 mph at times.
New precipitation amounts between 0.10 and 0.25 of an inch are possible tonight, along with areas of fog developing. It should dip down to about 51 degrees tonight with another round of rain, but less than a 0.10 of an inch possible.
Tuesday should be a little warmer, with a chance of light rain, mainly after 8 a.m. and otherwise cloudy and a high near 66. The wind also should be lighter at 6 to 8 mph. The chance of precipitation is about 30 percent, with new precipitation amounts of less than 0.10 of an inch possible.
The remainder of the week should be clear, with a partly sunny day Wednesday. Temperatures Wednesday should be about 66 degrees with a
low about 45.
For those planning yard sales, it gets increasingly nicer Thursday onward into the weekend, according to the forecast.
On Thursday, look for mostly sunny skies with a high near 69 and a clear and cool 44 at night.
Friday also appears to be sunny with a high near 71 degrees and a clear night with a low about 44.
The weekend starts out sunny on Saturday with a high near 71 and a low of 46.
Sunday looks to be mostly cloudy with a high near 70.
