Our local politicians, instead of crying the blues about losing our helicopter to the Hazelton police department, should take some of the confiscated drug money that the drug task force takes from drug busts and buy a brand new military surplus helicopter? It would be as good or better than the one that they had.
I'm sure that they could buy one fairly cheap and it would be brand new.
And I'm sure if they tried hard enough, they could probably get some state and federal grant money to help pay for it.
And if the helicopter is still in a crate, they could have the Penn College of Technology students uncrate it and assemble it.
It would be a good learning experience for them and the city of Williamsport would benefit.
Makes sense to me.
