Burns S. Williams, 60, of Williamsport, died Sunday, April 28, 2013, at the Williamsport Regional Medical Center.
Born Oct. 15, 1952, in Williamsport, he was a son of Charles S. and Gladys (Overdorf) Williams. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tami Brown, in 2012.
Burns was a U.S. Marine and Army National Guard veteran and served in the Vietnam War. He worked as a cook at American Legion Post No. 1. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 1, Masonic Lodge 106 and All Saints Memorial Episcopal Church, where he served on the vestry board. He loved spending time with his family.
Surviving, in addition to his wife Peggy (Bickel) Williams, are two daughters, Carrie Williams of Winter Haven, Fla., and Theresa Kriner-Baily of Williamsport; four granddaughters, Samantha Perry, Victoria McCormick, Abigail Baily and Lillian Baily; a great-granddaughter, Skylar McCormick; a brother, Ralph Williams of Williamsport; and a sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Joe Chopick.
A memorial service will be held 6 p.m. Friday at All Saints Memorial Episcopal Church, 1656 Scott St., Williamsport. A visitation will be held 5 to 6 p.m. Friday at the church.
