A South Williamsport mother faces charges for driving her two children home from school while allegedly drunk, according to borough police.
Annette M. Wells, 42, of 1556 Riverside Drive, had a blood-alcohol content level of .20 on the afternoon of Jan. 4 when she picked up her children at Central Elementary School, police said.
Police were notified after witnesses suspected she was under the influence. She was "visibly intoxicated and had fallen in the school's parking lot after getting out of her 1996 Jeep Cherokee," an officer wrote in an affidavit.
When police arrived at her home, Wells "stumbled out the front door," the affidavit states. She was taken to the county's DUI center and had blood drawn.
Wells was arraigned Monday before District Judge Gary A. Whiteman on charges of driving under the influence of intoxicants (her second offense), recklessly endangering and endangering the welfare of her children. She was released on $2,500 bail.
